Application of Immediate Transplantation into the Socket with Large Periapical Lesion

Abstract

|
|
This case report documents the transplantation of wisdom tooth into extracted socket of 2nd molar with large periapical pathosis. Judging from many literatures, the case like this is usually contraindicated in immediate transplantation. Most clinicians recommend the delayed transplantation after the extracted socket is healed for about 1-2 months. Although donor tooth put into the recipient socket right after the extraction of 2nd molar in this case, new bone developed well around the donor tooth and the clinical conditions were acceptable. Several clinical point will be discussed.
